Students will undertake seven key modules made up of 71 lessons.
Module 1: Horticulture I (100 Hours)
In this introductory module, you’ll learn how to identify plants and plant families, about pruning and landscaping, tree health and assessment, and soil and plant nutrition. From water management and how to grow and maintain lawns, this module delivers a sound foundation into the world of horticulture.
Module 2: Horticulture II (Plant Knowledge) (100 Hours)
This module is designed to further enhance your horticulture knowledge. You will explore the various groups of plants and where they are best used to successfully grow. From Australian natives to exotic ornamental, to indoor and tropical plants and bedding plants, you will discover what makes up these plant groups, how to grow them and how to care for them.
Module 3: Horticulture Ill (Plant Health) (100 Hours)
This module is designed to deepen your understanding of plant health and effective management practices. It offers an introduction to plant health, including an overview of preventative controls and the use of insecticides and other pesticides. It delves into the details of spray equipment, insect biology, and fungal biology, providing comprehensive insights into combating various plant health issues. Additionally, it addresses environmental problems and diseases caused by viruses, nematodes, molluscs, and crustaceans, equipping you with the knowledge to maintain healthy and thriving plant life in diverse horticultural settings.
Module 4: Natural Garden Design (100 Hours)
