Module 1: Bookkeeping Foundation I (100 hours)
Bookkeeping provides a framework for the collection, preparation and recording of financial data from which information can be drawn, so that informed decisions can be made, implemented and evaluated. The bookkeeping system can be tailored to the needs of any individual, non-profit organisation, small or large business.
This course will concentrate on the needs of small business and is perfect for anyone re-entering the workplace, managing or owning your own business, refreshing and bringing up to date your existing skills and knowledge, enhancing your capability in your work in administration or accounts departments or improving your CV – giving you additional skills and evidence of further studies you have undertaken.
Module 2: Bookkeeping Foundation II (100 hours)
This course covers cash flow management, stock control, budgeting and payroll with particular relevance to businesses selling goods (trading businesses). You will know more, understand more and be able to undertake more bookkeeping tasks once you complete this course.
This is substantial training, and well beyond what a basic bookkeeper needs. Having these additional bookkeeping skills makes you a more valuable prospect for employment in any type of finance industry job. Graduates may use their learning to improve the management of their own small business, to find a job in financial services, to improve employment prospects working in any office situation, starting a small business offering bookkeeping services or as a stepping stone toward further studies and employment prospects in finance or accounting.
