Approximately 190 hours to complete the course, which has 3 key certificates made up of 20 subjects and a celebrity mentor series (with 3 guest speakers).

However, you must be able to read, analyse and comprehend, printed information in English, and to write statements and solve problems to complete the course. You must also have reliable access to a computer and a reliable internet connection and have basic computer skills.
Upon completion of your course, you will receive a Certificate of Completion and a Statement of Attainment for each module completed.

The Certificate in Mental Health is designed to give you an introduction on ways to build resilience for mental well-being, explore social psychology and mental illness, psychiatric problems affecting adults and more. Once completed, you’ll have a deep understanding of common mental health conditions for both children and adults, know how to identify symptoms and how to engage with the very best support techniques and treatments.

Certificate 1: Children & Adolescent Mental Health
This certificate provides a comprehensive introduction to child and adolescent mental health, covering topics such as mental and physical health disorders, lifestyle and nutrition, social and environmental concerns, and emotional wellbeing. You will also explore a holistic approach to health and wellbeing in children and adolescents and different approaches to recovery.
Certificate 2: Mental Health in Adults
This certificate provides a comprehensive introduction to adult mental health, including the various psychological problems and complex disorders affecting adults. Explore what holistic health and wellness means and how to build resilience in adulthood. You will also learn about recovery, treatment and support options in the area of adult mental health.
Certificate 3: Celebrity Mentor Series
Hear from three celebrity industry professionals, who will provide invaluable insight and share their experience throughout our mentor series.
Jade Hameister OAM
Jade is a 20-year-old student from Melbourne, Australia. In January 2018, Jade completed her polar quest and in the process became the youngest person to ski from the coast of Antarctica to the South Pole unsupported and unassisted, the first Australian woman to do so, among the first women to set a new route to the South Pole unsupported and unassisted, the youngest to both Poles and the youngest to complete the Polar Hat Trick. Her expeditions were captured as part of a National Geographic feature length documentary, released mid-2018. In the 2019 Queen’s Birthday Honours, Jade was awarded an Order of Australia Medal for service to Polar Exploration. She is passionate about sharing her experience and knowledge about mental strength and her approach to adolescent mental health.

Wayne Schwass
Wayne Schwass, is a former successful Australian Rules football player and has become a leading mental health advocate after speaking publicly about his own experiences with mental health in 2006. Wayne founded and created the Sunrise Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation which delivered mental health programs to secondary school students across Melbourne, Australia. This passion and commitment was also the driving force behind the creation of PukaUp, a social enterprise which focuses on mental health, emotional wellbeing and importantly suicide prevention.

Dr Daniel Golshevsky (Dr Golly)
Dr Daniel Golshevsky (Dr Golly) is a Melbourne-based paediatrician and father of three who specialises in children’s acute and chronic medical conditions from birth to 18 years. Daniel also has a passion for improving the mental health of children and adolescents. Known in the media as Dr Golly, he appears regularly on Channel Seven’s Good Friday Appeal, as well as in other television and print features.

Assessments are a critical step in the learning process. They help ensure you stay on track and meet the learning objectives of each lesson before moving onto the next. They also help your tutor identify where any further support may be required, so that you get the most out of your course.
You will learn via various methods; a combination of reading, interacting with tutors, undertaking research and watching videos. Each lesson will conclude with an assignment which is marked by your assigned tutor and returned to you with feedback, and if necessary, some recommended additional reading.
